An independent perfumer born in Paris within the Guerlain family, Patricia de Nicolaï is a graduate of l’ISIPCA (Institut Supérieur International du Parfum, de la Cosmétique et de l’Aromatique Alimentaire). She trained at two of the most important fragrance composition companies, Florasynth (now Symrise) and Quest International (now Givaudan). In 1988, she was awarded best 'parfumeur-créateur' by the Société Française des Parfumeurs (SFP). In 1989, she launched her own brand, NICOLAÏ: Parfumeur-Créateur, with her husband. In 2007, she was inducted as a ‘Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur’. From 2008 to 2020, Patricia served as the President of the Osmothèque, the international conservatory of fragrances.
Son of Patricia de Nicolaï, Axel de Nicolaï made high commerce studies and trained as a chemist. He has gained olfactory and sales experience working at L’Oréal (Lascad), then at LVMH Fragrance Brands (Givenchy, Kenzo, Fendi), and in the Middle East for Interparfums. In 2015, Axel officially became the General Manager of NICOLAÏ: Parfumeur-Créateur while also being deeply involved in the fragrance creation process.
